Ms. Tigist Abdullah Lead Toddler Teacher
My Philosophy of Early Childhood Education is:
Education at an early age is a very important foundation for children because it affects their life later. I believe that we should teach love and take of our children at a young age in order to have a healthy society.
What I like most about working for Our House is:
Being able to see the life of families, especially women and children, changing. To see families when they are relieved from the pressure they are facing. I do not have enough words to explain what Our House means to people, including myself. I love the diversity in terms of race, religion, origin of nationality, education, etc. Our House is Everybody’s House!

Wyketta Morrison Assistant Toddler Teacher
My Philosophy of Early Childhood Education is:
I believe that no matter what a
child is going through, every child needs a
chance at the best education life has to offer
starting at birth. Every child needs a strong
parent or adult to help them get the best
education they can receive.
What I like most about working for Our House is:
What I like
most about my job is how the families are able to get help with
their children from all of the staff members as well as from
people outside of Our House. I also love that Our House shows a
lot of love toward the families regardless of what they are
going through.

Ms. Paulette Porter Lead Three Yr. Old Teacher
My Philosophy of Early Childhood Education is:
Every child has their own way of learning and adjusting. As their teacher it is my job to listen and interact with a child to make sure that their goals are met. If a child is not fed he can not eat; if a child does not feel safe, he can not sleep; and if a child is not encouraged, praised, or re-directed when needed, he or she will not grow.
What I like most about working for Our House:
Working for Our House, Inc has helped me to grow. It is not just a place where the kids come and stay while their parents are away. Our House, Inc. is a place that has helped a lot of parents to reach their goal as a stepping stone and has given me a chance to see a child come in crying but leave smiling.

Mrs. Marilyn Barker Lead Pre-K Teacher
My Philosophy of Early Childhood Education is:
To provide the children with ongoing opportunities
for active learning and to expose them to extensive experiences
that will help develop curiosity, resourcefulness, and self-confidence.
What I like most about working for Our House is:
The Children. Here at Our House we receive children of all
different backgrounds, race, creed, color, nationality, and faith.
However, the main thing that they all have in common is the need to
be loved. We are able to share love with all and in return so much
love comes back. The growth that we see in the children always amazes
and motivates us to go above and beyond what we are required to do.
